Kathie Scrimgeour writes under the pseudonym KJ Scrim. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. She serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors with Pikes Peak Writers, and previously served as the Managing Editor of Writing from the Peak (PPW’s blog) and the Project Manager of PPW’s first three anthologies, Fresh Starts, Dream, and Journeys into Possibility. Her inspiration for blogging, flash fiction, short stories, and the long haul of novel writing comes from her many life experiences. You can follow her on her website, KJScrim.com and on Facebook. “I have been writing something ever since I can remember. I wrote glorious poems in school (in my 15 year old mind they were glorious), travel stories for Things Asian, and crazy cooking tips in a local newspaper, The Mountain Connection. I also spent 15 years in the photography industry. Today, I write fantasy, fiction, and a bit of cozy mystery. I am working on my debut fantasy novel, Murder in Sulpher Gulch a cozy mystery worth tripping over.”

I love talking with other authors about their work and who they are. As a young reader I was curious about the person behind the pages. Were they magicians in a castle waving a wand with streams of words flowing from it? Do they hide in a dark rooms surrounded by mountainous stacks of books as they toiled at a monstrous typewriter? Do their eyes bulge with each new found verse? What sort of madmen are behind the crafting of a book, story, or poem? Let’s get together with a few authors and find out.

Reviews are my personal pondering about a story.  I write reviews based on my own thoughts as to how the book or story struck me. I might pick your book apart, throw it away, or read it in a single sitting and beg you to send me the next installment. I welcome requests for a review, but be aware (or beware) that I write what I feel and I do not guarantee a pretty picture.
